Hi, I just picked this up for $1 this weekend. Looks real to me, but like the canvas was put on a piece of board. The painting is about 8 x 10 size, or maybe a bit larger (forgot to measure it).....whoooops.
Name on it: RENE CARON
I am not sure about it, or where this person is from (or even male/female). Can anyone help me find any info on this person -- and IF this is real, and real signature?
Thanks.....I keep looking for a Picasso... :24: :x-fingers:

Super -- one mans trash is another person TREASURE....for a $1 - I am out nothing.....but maybe a bit of $$$
Any members here are able to log into Worthpoint to see what the price that one was sold at?
I am not a member there, so would be just nice to know. Worthpoint is good -- you find a similar item there, but then you do not know the value of it...
:(

It is signed,not sure what it says,looks like 'A Brat...'91' ???

Wish I'd kept up painting, been years since I picked up a brush, did this back in the 80's,have done a few watercolours but just copies of Japanese woodblock prints,
Keith.

Abbot 91 perhaps, Keith...? Love your tiger, clever old thing you! :)

Thanks Anne,it does look like Abbot, will google and see what comes up.Tried all types of mediums over the years including enamel on old mirrors but the fumes got too much, gave most away but still have a few around, the OH likes this one....

Keith -- nice Tiger painting....TC would LOVE IT.
As for the other art work with Abbot.....it looks like you tried the magnifying glass over the signature with the camera technique that I had mentioned.
See, it does help... :sign_gj:
