Title: FUNKY GLASS ELECTRIC LAMP BASE
Post by: skay on January 03, 2008, 10:12:18 PM
I love the colour of this glass lamp base but know nothing about it.

It was a charity shop find.

I need to get a funky shade to set it off.  The fitting for the bulb has an ancient Woolworth sticker for ?1.49 but it doesn't look original to the base.  There's a hole in the base with a rubber washer around it.

Can anyone help?

You and your bottoms!

The white sticker is a Children's Society electrical ok thing and the older sticker reads 49 and then maybe something else I can't see.

It looks very 1970s and probably not contemporary with the sticker. Is it green cased over white and quite thick glass? I would guess Scandinavian or Italian, but it's likely we won't find out who. Why don't you pop in on the other place as well for Nic to have a look see - he's there more than here.

Looks to be a cousin to this one.
