Charles Rennie Mackintosh style silver Brooch
« on: November 11, 2010, 11:32:22 AM »
Hi all
Ive had this brooch for quite some time now, i have no idea where it came from, probably at the bottom of a box of glass i have bought somewhere along the line.
Its in the Charles Rennie Mackintosh style and is hallmarked on the back, but i cant work out the hall marks.
Can anybody give me an idea or any info on the brooch.
Ive not cleaned it since ive had it, the silver has a rosey coloured look to it is this just the dirt or is it similar to a rose gold effect?
the brooch is 4.75cm in length
I think the marks say NO 925 X Y (925 in an oval depression, X in a rounded off square depression and Y in a thinner rounded of square. The x and Y are guesses could be something completly different)
many thanks michelle

Hello Michelle,925 refers to it being silver, looks very Macintosh, any chance of a close up of the marks, tried to magnify the image but not clear enough ;D

Hi there -- Can we get closer marks on it?  Try camera + magnifying glass (as it works even on the close-up setting.)

925 would stand for Silver....

See if you can get a closer shot, then maybe crop in some on it.

Thanks -- look forward to it
