Painting named *Roper*
« on: August 24, 2008, 06:45:53 AM »
Hi, Just got this at a garage sale for $10 bucks.  It is quite large at 2 ft 8 inches x 2 ft 4 inches.  Not sure what it is painted on, but I just kinda liked it.  Have not be able to find anything on the artist yet... :sign_help:

TIA

Aime l'Heureux seems to be a painter from Lake Cowichan, Vancouver, but the pages coming up in searches no longer exist and aren't cached

Check this out for a little bit more about Aime l'Heureux, Rose (it's a PDF file download):

Cheers!

Use the search (binoculars) in Reader to find it Rose. It was a small box out bottom left of one of the pages.
Cheers!

I found a "Aim? L'Heureux grew up in North Battleford and moved to Winnipeg at age 18 to study art".....on the net.

?? ?? ?? I also found a Aimee L'Heureux (Associate Editor) on this page here....and also see article written on page 12/of 48 in this link HERE .  Not sure IF the same person as one first name has only one E, and the other two E's ?? ?? ?? ??

Gee, also if you look through there -- there are some $$$ for Western Art  :o :o :thd:

ADDED:

I also found this Genealogy about a Aime L'Heureux that says "Born November 8, 1936" and scroll to +134 of the genealogy number to see this (From Saskatchewan, also).  Gee we share the Same birth-date....lol:

http://www.happyones.com/genealogy/lheureux/moise/first-two-generations.pdf

Could be the right person if born in 1936 (this painting is dated 1983) so could be ?? ??

I also found in McCord University a picture (old photo) of a L. Heureux Farm (of cattle) at North Battleford -- Which is a couple hours away from where I am.  So maybe the same person

Also some ?? info HERE   See the highlighted words for the name.
