I have seen other early Chinese porcelain go for lots of money at a local auction I occasionally attend, not as much as the vase in the story, but always more than the estimate and always in the thousands.

Never been that lucky! :-)

Me neither! :)  But there's been a few such finds locally, porcelain and paintings etc...   I live in hope! ;)
