I've just bought this little retro looking dish with its label still on. BEKA KERAMIK BIRGER ALSTROM. The accents over the letter A makes me think it might be Swedish??? It has BEKA inscribed on the base.
Its a nice little piece with a mottled bronze underglaze and inscribed abstract pattern.
Does anyone know anything about it please?
TIA ;D

They appear to be in ?rnsk?ldsvik, Sweden, but that's it

I found some more with the BEK? label on Tradera (http://www.tradera.com/Tva_sma_fina_fat_fran_BEKA_Keramik_50_tal-auktion-59888528)
and some more rummaging around found some refs on a Swedish message board http://www.precisensan.com/antikforum/archive/index.php?t-2701.html where someone asks about BEK? and the replies include these links: http://allehanda.se/arkiv/artikel.php?page=lokalt&id=1509 and http://allehanda.se/arkiv/artikel.php?page=kultur&id=143 both pages in Swedish so perhaps Aine can help figure it out for us? The online translators scrunch it up so much as to be unreadable. :boohoo:

Many thanks Christine and Anne :)
Where are you Aine? ;D
Hopefully, some, or all will be revealed... ;)
