Title: 50s Italian, German or other? - ID = Marzi & Remi
Post by: Anne E.B. on April 26, 2008, 05:42:11 PM
Can anyone throw any light on this little vase please?  It strikes me as possibly being Italian...
Its got a nice mottled turquoise/green glaze and is handpainted with two flower girls.
Hopefully the markings on the base will help.  I think the impressed number is 1010/17, but not too sure about the last two digits.  There is also a "triangular" mark, and it is stamped 'foreign'.  Made from white clay.
Kind of 50s look to it.

TIA ;)

I would say that was German. I'll investigate. The last two digits are the height, if you mean the 17

That gal gets around - and she's wearing the same shoes ;D  Many thanks TC

Thanks Christine - the '17' ties in with the height in cm after all.
