Title: Blue Glazed Horse Heads Bookends
Post by: antiquerose123 on April 27, 2008, 07:25:28 PM
Hi, I have these bookends, of Horses.  They look like Blue Mountain Pottery - but there is no stamp as such to identify them.

I (think) they (may) be Canadian, but since I do not know -- I will post here first.  There is a small chip on the one, and you can see a white clay....Hope someone can help.

Thanks

Aren't they the same as the ones in Sue's post here Rose? http://www.yobunny.com/pottery/index.php?topic=10308.0

Don't think they are. Rose's are more stylised.

Yeah -- they are *similar* as in being *horses* but too different styles.  I find that these have a more Raw, Wild, Spit-Fire, Mustang look to these horses.

I REALLY like the fire that these horses seem to portray.  I think that they are well done, and like the glaze too, but as to whom made them -- well, that is a MYSTERY....yet. :-\
