I wonder if this belongs to Tynemouth Railway Station. :24:
I bought it from a second hand shop about 10 miles away.
It appears to me quite old. I have found other signs with the words 'main line' but they have all had the name of the station as well. So why this one hasn't got the name, i don't know.

It is almost certainly a sign from a signal box, so did not need to be cast to withstand weather. It would be used to identify the levers for points or signals.

Thanks, er, does that still make it collectable?

I would have thought so. Best to ask on a Railwayana or Model railways forum. Probably not wildly valuable without a company name.

Well done TC.. :tgs: :kool:
Hey I heard someone somewhere found something very important while they were using their metal detaector. I thought it might been TC?
Was it you (lol), as it made the news. Found any other detecting things lately. Wonder IF SANTA would buy me one.....
....Oh Santa...
