Title: Marked Vase with applied leaf
Post by: deco.queen on May 09, 2008, 09:59:51 PM
This piece was so unusual that I had to have it.  It is marked but I have no idea where to look for the maker.  I'm hoping someone here might recognize it.  The vase is 13 3/4" tall.  The one mark looks like it might be an "S".  Thank you for looking!

It's not easy to make out the mark Janice. Can you sprinkle a little white powder across the mark and blow off the excess to hightlight it please? (The powder should stay in the indents and show it up better.) Talc, flour or cornflour will do the trick.

The mark is too flat on the piece to use the powder.  I drew over it with a china marker to show what happens, it's higher on the left side and almost nothing on the mm side or whatever all those humps are!  ;D  This piece intrigued me the way the "rope" goes inside and out.  Here are the other pictures I took.
