Title: black match striker - discus thrower mark
Post by: josordoni on May 15, 2008, 12:07:26 PM
Hi there everyone.. does anyone know who this trade mark is for?  I have checked out my Godden and can't find it in there, so I am stuck now.

Nice matt black painted matchholder with grisaille transfers to each side, underglaze transferred mark of discus thrower, no makers name.

any ideas?  thanks!

Thanks TC - do you know I thought I had gone through each and every manufacturer on that site?  Doh!!!

Excellent.  Obviously the discus thrower is emblematic of the series rather than the maker, which was throwing me off the scent.  Prattware pot lids are not often marked either, but that way of painting around the transfer is pretty typical of them.

Honestly I despair of my memory sometimes...the stuff is all in there, I just can't get it out.. :thd:
