Any ideas about this stoneware footed bowl would be appreciated ;) Its got a grainy textured matt glazed interior. There's a mark impressed on the base but I can't make it out with any certainty. It might be a letter d followed by an a or an o but I can't tell. May be someone recognises the style and/or mark?

More likely to be 'dp'.
'p' for pottery

Thanks Tigger ;D
Found these in an old book, so I'll check them out first. Its a start 8) :-
Dalton Pottery, Cumbria.
Denby Pottery, Derbyshire.
Denmead Pottery, Hants.
Dovestone Pottery, Lancs.
Duckpool Cottage Pottery, Devon.
Some might not exist any more. Will get back if I find anything remotely similar ;)

Another Dalton Pottery just over the border in Scotland too Anne: http://www.daltonpottery.co.uk - I like the cat with the flowery head here! http://www.daltonpottery.co.uk/pottery.html

Dovestone Pottery made indoor fountains so I doubt it's them.

Have you seen the Dalton Pottery clock with the nude couple? :o ;D
Just widening my options. It could be the letter d and b. This brought up this potter - David Brown http://www.dbpottery.co.uk/index.html His mark is shown top left hand corner and he makes stoneware pots using sand and grog and matt/textural glazes in a range of blues/greens. With a bit of imagination ( :-\) it could be his mark. What does anyone think? May be my imagination is running away with me... ???

I think you could be right there Anne
David says"I also make a small range of every day practical ware, in a variety of blue and green colours, mainly mugs, jugs, bowls and teapots."
