Title: Gmunder Keramik, Austria
Post by: Anne E.B. on August 30, 2008, 08:48:45 PM
Found this nice little shell shape bowl today marked Gmunder Keramik Austria.  No ideas how old it is.  They produce handmade pottery.  My fingers actually fit in the ridges on the inside of the bowl.  I've never heard of them before.    Anyone come across them before?

Never Anne, despite Google telling me they are world-famous!  They do have a website though (with an English version, happily) and some downloadable leaflets for future reference. :) http://www.gmundner-keramik.at/intro.php?lang=en

Your wee shell is rather nice!

Yes I've come across them but not frequently.
Was certainly not aware that they were world famous !!
Austrian definition of "world-famous" must be different to ours !!
Important to get the spelling right Anne EB if you are researching !!

Thanks TC ;)
I don't fancy the idea of some of those baths, and draw the line at sharing one with a goat :o :24:

No thanks, goats tend to nibble at things they shouldn't nibble at!
