Title: Stoneware wallplanter
Post by: emmi on September 02, 2008, 12:48:25 PM
Hi. Found this the other day, a departure from my usual German pottery which I collect.  The base marks are very feint, but can just make out Stoneware.  The other words are illegible.  The symbol is a circle with a slash through it........any thoughts please.

Thanks for that link.........I am doing some more research, goodness knows how long it will take to get something conclusive, but I will post any results here ASAP.

Would be interested to know where Sue C found the back stamp for William Gordon,as so far I haven';t found that.  Emmi

I have been informed by a ceramics archivist, that this does look like William Gordon and have been referred to the Victoria and Albert Museum , where there is a "holding" of his pottery.  However the ceramics department at the V and A is currently closed for refurbishment,  so it may be some time before I get a reply.  Emmi
