I was wondering if anyone knew this mark, or should I say marks. There is the incised mark that could be a *D* and a *C* ?? Or whatever -- since I am not sure.
Then there is also a ink stamp on it - and I have no idea. I can see some letters that (maybe) look like (??) RHP or RAP or .....?....?.....?
Looks like the ink mark is round with little scrolls or ~ marks to form the circle...
Any ideas at all?

DUH - I guess I should have added in the beginning. I tried to get another pic of the ink mark a little closer too, if that helps.. ;)

Looks like Majolica.
Does it have very fine cracks in the glaze?

I will have to take another look. Yeah, kinda looks majolica to me -- but do you recognize the mark for anything?
What do you think the incised mark is? A looped *R*...with a *C* any ideas at all. I had a link somewhere for a book that broke marks down by the way they were. Round, square, leaves....by I can't find my bookmark.....I have too many of them.. :crying1:

Never seen the mark before. Could be MR. Take a closer look at the black stamp, is the monogram also in the centre of that? That mark would be leaning to the right if it is.

Still trying to get a good pic here for the mark...this is a *new* pic from above, honest..
maybe a P_ _ HUR ....??? or something like that and there may be other letter before the P that I have stated here...could be _ _ P_ _ HUR....Who knows. I was hoping someone may have a idea with the little scallops that make up the circle around this mark...Can not tell what is in the inside yet.
I wonder, if a UV black light would help to pick up the ink glaze color more? I might have to go buy this type of bulb to *try* it.....

I thought it looked a bit Majolica myself too (?)
I wonder if anyone has a idea about the initial on the bottom.... DR maybe. In the INK stamp mark I though I could see ( :czy: ) the letters of...
Ray, or Ruh or .... as when I look closer in person, the one letter looks like an *A* so that is why I say *RAY* ??
Anyone know a site (with excellent data base) where you can type in the *descriptions* of a unknown mark to help?
Like circle, scrolls, ink mark....as this one is getting to me. I am going :mad: :czy:

It's a puzzler Rose, I've been through Lang's Pottery & Porcelain Marks (copy courtesy of Marcus who spotted it in a charity shop and picked it up for me! :)) and can't see anything like it at all. Hmmmmm...

The mark is for *Rubens Originals*

Whew, it took 2 years :thd: but found it !!! :gcheer: ;D Well, stumbled upon it real accidentally ---- as I was wondering what a Catholic site had about Ceramics....and Bingo, there it was. The Ink mark is scrolls, and a small crown -- and says Rubens Japan...
