Title: Oriental vase with lid unknown artist/manufacturer?

Small oriental item unknown. nicely decorated looks to have some age but could be anything anybody hazzard a guess. :new:

Had no luck getting anywhere with this piece, Can anyone advise on a good book to buy which is usefull for dating etc oriental pieces by there marks?

Looks like a Chinese ginger jar the markings tend to relate to older styles,not good with Chinese characters,you could try posting it on the 'Asian art forum' but beware they don't hold back saying what they think although they are very good,not so polite as us gentle folk here,
