Bought a lovely little cream jug today maybe stoneware the base is quite grey coloured the sides are a nice blue colour which merge with a darker colour i thought this was quite modern but it has got small surface crazing over most of it body and it has an incised mark near the pouring spout any ideas as to the makers of this ware? it measures approx 4" tall. thanks daniel.

I think its salt-glazed stoneware if that's any help and the top letter is an R

Thanks loustrusstone i agree looking at it again after relaxing for an hour after work it could be R M the mark.

Looks like an R to me.......and a M also
Found this to be marked RM: RM Jug with Lid (http://www.prices4antiques.com/pottery-porcelain/pottery/Pottery-RM-Stein-Character-Beehive-Inscription-Inlaid-Lid-5-Liter--D9905186.htm)
So could it be RM.....or MR? I wonder which it is??? Always looking backwards... :24:
(I never look at a pot as half-full, but rather half-empty.... ;D)
