Hi long time here, been so busy, I apologize...
Vase or a pitcher I guess.....with the handle, I guess a Pitcher....
Bought this a short time ago. Has a unique drip glaze of browns, greens, yellows, mauve colors. It is about 8 inches tall. It has gold accents around the opening and on the handle. It is marked on the bottom of it, but I can not make it out (must be my eyes :old: ).
It looks to me like it says WEST - _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _Y. Of course I thought of West Germany, but there looks to be a hyphen and no numbers on it like most of the West Germany I have saw. Can anyone make it out?
TIA (Thanks In Advance) me ;D

Here's another bottom ( :mny: = :o ) shot.... lol

It's West German. Try having a look at U Keramik stuff

Hiya Rose, it's been too long (and quiet!!! ;D) without ya! :kissy:
I *think* that it reads WEST - (then some numbers) - GERMANY - the numbers seem to be something like 218/18 ...? That'd be a form number and height I suppose.
-
I was wondering IF that was what it was, but then the writing (West then something, then what looked liked maybe Germany ??) I was not sure.
Got at a garage sale for $2.00....so hope that was a good deal. :gcheer:

Thank you for that info. I was leaning to West Germany, but the writing did not seem to match that exact wording....since I only have a few pieces. Plus, I did not know WGP had gold accents on it. Boy, have I got lots to learn....but I have SUPER TEACHERS here. :kissy:

As I said, try looking up U Keramik. They did similar stuff

I found an item with gold (gilt) trim and kinda similar colors here
http://www.rubylane.com/shops/prairiewindantiques/item/RLP-568
See, I never knew (WGP) had things done up with gold trim. I was leaning that way when I bought it, but the writing (looks like WEST then something, then another word) when I was looking for the straight words West Germany...then the gold on it....threw me too. I did guess in my first post if it might be WGP, so I am learning all the time ;)

So what year would this be? And how desirable is this stuff (U Keramik) on the WGP scale?
Like are fat lava WGP more collectible over this type (U Keramik) ??
:)
