Bought this ( ring) at an Estate sale for a $1.00. Seems to be vintage....and Sterling. Just doing some homework on this tonight too

That'll be the Dallas Cowboys NFL team Rose, 5
times champions apparently, so that'll pin the date down a little.

A great buy Rose :cheerleader:
It looks huge!

Those big chunky rings seem to be an American thing don't they? Apart from this one Rose found, I have read of fraternity rings which identify which frat you belonged to at uni/college, and the biker gangs have them as well - rather knuckle-duster-ish some of them though! :fby:

I just found out some info on this. The LGB on the inside stands for L. G. BALFOUR Company: http://www.balfour.com/ and they do do championship rings. I imagine that since it is dated 1992, the style of rings would be different than what they have now. I should contact them to see if they can tell me anything. So a reputable company, and I would imagine the * STER * means STERLING SILVER. I would think worth more than $1.00 that I paid...
Also found this site: http://www.sportsjewelrystore.com/NFL_rings.htm (http://www.sportsjewelrystore.com/NFL_rings.htm)
So I think I am getting warm here. .....and YIKES :sign_scare:, I also found that 1992 Dallas Cowboy ring was stolen (but it is not this one) as it is sorta the same, but had DIAMONDS on the top.... :notme:

Thought I would add this here -- found on this link (quote): http://www.collectorsweekly.com/football/super-bowl The top of the page, but you have to click there where it says: "Expand to read FULL article"
"No team, however, commands the same attention from collectors as the early ?90s dynasty of ?America?s Team,? the Dallas Cowboys. Throughout the franchise?s history, the Cowboys have won four Super Bowls and lost three more?win or lose, seven trips to the Super Bowl is quite an accomplishment. Programs, ticket stubs, and other items from their Super Bowl appearances, especially there first championship in Super Bowl V, are unnaturally collectible because of the high demand."
