Title: Old Czech handpainted vase
Post by: Anne E.B. on October 14, 2009, 09:07:54 PM
Here's my latest buy.  Its marked with numbers on the base, but I've no idea who made it yet.  Its an unusual shape and it looks really old.

I found this website when googling, but haven't found mine yet.  This type of pottery seems often to be referred to as "Peasant art", but I think I prefer to call it "folk art", if that indeed is what it is.

Looks very much like a Gouda look-a-like.

There's a pottery call BIHL pottery in Czechoslovakia, maybe worth a google.
