Title: Studio pottery 1956? Clear mark but what language? Looks a little like Ruskin.
Post by: david31162 on October 31, 2009, 02:37:37 PM
These look a little like Ruskin in style but aren't.
I can only identify 56 so i assume 1956. I've looked at so many texts Hebrew, celtic... All seem to have some of these letters but not all. I'm out of ideas.
Can anyone help?
Thank you,
David

Did you try Russian Cyrillic script writing?

Arabic would be my guess, the glaze is similar to Middle-Eastern pieces that I've seen. Another option could be Islamic, but I'm leaning towards Persian (showing my age there).

Thank you Chimpmad,
You could easily be right. Yet again many symbols look similar, but not all ,so I still can't work this out!
Thanks again
