Hello Carolyn, that's about as far as I've got and nothing since,ta for looking,Keith.

Hi Keith -
Have you tried holding it real close under a light - and snapping a pic (no flash) with the camera. Sometimes a MARK will show up when real close to a light, and the Camera sometimes sees the shadows of marks that we (our naked eye) can't.
I would try that to see if anything might *pop* up when there is a heavy glaze on the bottom...
Give it a try....and snap a few pics with the camera, and then look at the pics because the camera might pic up some writing underneath when close to a light.
Worth a shot...
:D

Will give it a try and post results,ta again, Keith.

Okey Dokey.....will wait. :tup3:

Gorgeous, is it painted or etched out to reveal the layer underneath?

Whilst looking through Miller's Pottery (Gordon Lang), on pages 96/97 (if anyone has a copy and wants to check), there are some tiles and a plate with what looks like similar style of decoration. They are described as tin glazed Dutch. The ones shown are early 17th C which yours probably isn't, but it might be worth exploring Dutch tin glaze anyhow.

Not good with pottery think it's slip decoration, not etched, cut into etc....will look up the Dutch possibility,ta for all replies,
Keith.

I believe this is most likely K?tahya (Turkey) although late Iznik is a remote possibility. The pattern is known as Saz from the name of the plant with that highly serrated leaf.
However I'm not an expert and I suggest you google around those names yourself and see what you come up with.
