Title: Large duck egg holder
Post by: Tigerchips on February 18, 2010, 07:15:38 PM
I don't know much about this but i would guess it's probably French and was used for holding duck eggs inside. I'm probably wrong but never mind.

I'm just wondering if anyone knows more about it? There are no marks at all, and it seems to be very old.

Sometimes those sort of things were for soup, but that doesn't look deep enough

I did think it looked a bit like a tureen but it doesn't have any stains inside or any other signs that it was used for that.
