Title: Handpainted Pink Frame
Post by: antiquerose123 on March 02, 2010, 04:13:54 AM
Hi I have this hand-painted pink picture frame with small flowers on it.  It does have a Foil label on it that says: HAND PAINTED TILSO JAPAN

Also in red, there are the Marks of 52/478 on the bottom..  I am pretty sure this is quite vintage, but not sure of age.  I am hoping it is around the 1940's or so (??).  It is about 7 inches tall, and about 5 inches wide.  It has it own molded stand on the back.

It is very *sweet* looking, and the gold edging is in excellent condition.  Would that be (poss) 22k edging on it IF older?

I just love it for it Sweetness.......maybe for a Baby picture (??)

That is so nice Rose! I don't think it's as old as 40's, but I wouldn't like to hazard a guess as to when. I did find something about Tilso though: http://www.mermaidmania.com/Tilso/body_tilso.html - mermaids not picture frames, but sounds like the same firm.
