Title: old pottery bowl, salt glazed, multi colors ?
Post by: fstws6 on March 14, 2010, 02:18:27 AM
it looks like redware or terra cotta ? 10 1/4  wide and 4 1/4 high. Has some chips and some crazing in the glaze. The interior is raw with no finish. Age/Origin/Value is all unknown to me.

I think it's unusual that it isn't glazed inside the bowl, although i think i remember reading somewhere that unglazed terracotta earthenware is non-porous.

Anyway, this looks 100 years old or more. Possibly American Spongeware?
