Title: Boy Figurine (??)
Post by: antiquerose123 on May 01, 2010, 08:13:22 PM
Hi, was at a Garage sale today and bought this for .50 cents.  Have no idea about it.  It is about 8 inches tall, and the bottom does have the initials of BN.

I was rooting around, and all I could find (so far) was this signed with a BN -- and both my figurine and this link, the BN does (almost) look the same to me -- but not sure -- not found anything else.....YET

Cache Link, see highlights for BN:  Click Here, see Highlight for BN (http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:EIqQ2XXqU18J:www.gem-antiques.com/store/default.asp%3FSection%3D4+ceramic+figurine+bottom+mark+BN&cd=5&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=ca)

Then clicked on that link for this Close-up of BN initials:

Help.....any ideas at all...

Impatient bunny you are! :kissy:  Seriously I have no idea about this one Rose... I'm clueless totally.  I'd have expected other backstamps with the BN though if it were by Doulton...  ?

A full picture of the base might help Rose. The Doulton vase is made from stoneware, your figure look like pottery or porcelain.

I thought it looked a bit like a specific type of figurine, but for the life of me, I can't remember what their name is. German, I think, and does lots of little children with rosy red cheeks!

Yes, yes it would be. Thanks Tigger!  :cheerleader: Goebel was the one that was ALMOST coming to mind, but not quite making it.
