Title: Thin Cat / owl 70's?? vase

Hello all, new member here, I found you through GMB and wondered if anyone recognises this pottery vase that I bought at the weekend. It has a bit of a 70's feel (I was thinking) but hopefully someone could shed a more informed eye over it for me. The vase is approx 6" tall and thin at 1.5". The base has some sort of glued paper attached that can be picked off,

Hi David and welcome to the board.  :pst:  Don't worry about being in the wrong place, it's not a hanging offence.  :bny: I'll move it over for you... meanwhile, I think your piece represents the Owl and the Pussycat (a touch of the Lewis Carroll's methinks...) but I've no idea who may have made it... hopefully someone else will though.  :x-fingers:

It looks very retro/Deco look to me too.

Nothing on the base, eh?  Just throwing out some names here - Hornsea Pottery, or Bitossi Pottery....these are just guesses off the Top of my head at the  moment.....but seems to have a Danish flair to me....but what do I know..

just guessing here - will try google later..

I have one of these also - I love it.  It does represent the poem I believe and I feel sure it is British pottery.  No idea who made it though, I have been trying to id this also.

Nothing under that Dark Glaze?

I just bought a piece that I thought said nothing too, until I put it under a super bright light....and could see a couple letters.  Then I worked on getting the light right, and snapped a zillion pics till I got a half OK one.  I will be posting it here to show just hoe heavy the glaze was -- but there WAS lettering under it.  This heavy glazed bottom will be under Canadian topic, NOW that I have managed to *see* some letters -- and another piece I had not heard of.

So just try lots of light sources -- as sometimes there are letters under there, but the glaze was so heavy, or filled in the marks -- but just give it a shot....
