More 'geeky' electrical contraptions ;D. Must be my week for them, but as things come in three's, I'm expecting to come across a final one any time now...
Couldn't resist this - although the wiring looks very unsafe, so I won't be testing it out.
Its a Ronning Electric Footwear Dryer - c.1950, made in England. Made to insert into damp shoes ??? Originally made in blue, green, cream and red.
See here for this, and other strange contraptions LINK (http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://homepage.ntlworld.com/paul.linnell/sso/ronning.jpg&imgrefurl=http://homepage.ntlworld.com/paul.linnell/sso/bedwarmers.html&usg=__F4pSrvKhUrmr4heO2Uc5yUibgSs=&h=201&w=283&sz=13&hl=en&start=3&um=1&itbs=1&tbnid=5LRnMW4ufiyShM:&tbnh=81&tbnw=114&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dthe%2Bronning%2Belectric%2Bfootwear%2Bdryer%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26rlz%3D1T4SUNA_enGB262GB263%26tbs%3Disch:1)
Oh dear, that looks like a very long link. Can it be shortened please? (Done! :))

You are finding some interesting stuff Anne! Never seen those before...
-
I have never seen something like that either -- Seen Shoes stretches from the older days when it was the thing to do to KEEP your shoes in Shape. Not like now, you just wing them off anywhere, and do not care about what they look like.
Not gonna try them -- I bet they'll DRY your shoes....and then some
<...Smells Smoke...>

May be they came with a peg for your nose :24:
I was told they work, but I don't trust the wiring. I think they are just a collector's piece, like the GECoPHONE wireless.

The wiring does not look that bad - like the cords are frayed.....get the OH to plug them in -- at a distance.....
Still might work....just have to feel a bit of warmth to know.
:)

Eeek! Rose, are you trying to kill off Anne's hubby? :o Before anyone tries them they'd need to be checked by a suitably qualified electrician.

Tee hee ;D It beats greasing the stairs :24:
Now where's that Insurance Policy..?
