Title: Scary Face Mug -- LOL

Hi, I found this Mug (only the 1) and I could not resist.  Have no idea on the maker, even though it has the name *Gaites* on the bottom -- I have not found anything related to that.  Anyone have any ideas?  Is this Studio pottery, or not?

I reckon yours is handthrown.
