Title: Help Identifying Piece
Post by: texvw on August 24, 2010, 10:27:15 PM
I have had this piece for many years.  I have no idea if it is of value or not.  Can anyone help?

Hi Texvm, and Welcome to the Board !!! :cheerleader:

Looks like it is a piece of Pottery made in *Italy* with the marks of 708/4 or a 9 (?? possibly).  The handles are weaved, and the colors sort of remind me of Majolica ware.

Sometimes hard to get a maker on these -- but we will try to help you as much as possible, and again -- Welcome !!

Thanks so much for your assistance.  I think the last number looks more like a 4.  There isn't a loop as in a 9.  Any information you have would be most appreciated!

Hi there:
I wonder if Anne can shed some light now this one.....as I know that italian ones are sometimes tough to find a maker, even though they are signed *Italy*.

Is is Tin glazed?

:)

Not much to be honest - not my field at all! The 3 areas I'd be looking at would be Deruta, Montelupo, and Impruneta - all are well-known for their ceramics. Age-wise, again I've no idea at all.
