Title: Identify Cups, saucers etc
Post by: Daves on February 14, 2011, 08:05:17 PM
My wife has some cups, saucers and quite a few other items, bowls etc which I believe are Salt and Nixon, apart from that i haven't a clue. Are they worth keeping, in fact are they worth anything. Your help would be greatly appreciated. I've attached photos as a help.

Hi and welcome ;)  Some one will be along real soon I'm sure who will be able to help you, but in the meantime, checkout a previous posting regarding Salt & Nixon http://www.yobunny.com/pottery/index.php?topic=381.0

A quick google of pottery marks shows that your mark is c.1914-21 see here http://marksfinder.com/alphabetical/Salt-Nixon-Ltd-Longton-England/

A look on some auction sites might give you an idea of how much they are worth.  There are a few S&N pieces on ebay, but not your particular pattern, which is very nice :)

Hi Anne E B
Many thanks for your reply. I have had a look at the one on EBay at the one from the shop. My wife has yet to get her box out for me to see what else is in it, which she says belongs to the same pattern. Apparently it is years since she looked. I'll also try some auction sites as you have suggested.
Many thanks

Dave
