HI ,i bought this little mirror a some time ago it is only small but what is on the back make`s up for it`s size Height 94,mm Width 62,mm .On the back it say`s MOTHER ,She lives each day for those she loves and never thinks of self. She puts the sweetest touch to life. Like some endearing elf. To share her happiness is joy. To have her near is healh. To win her smile is perfect peace. To have her love is wealth . It has a brass frame and the mirror is bevelld around the edge.

Hmmm curiously, googling for the poem brings absolutely nothing up, zilch, nada! Which is curious! I'll sleep on it. :)

The design around the quotation looks '30's to me.

Is it just a paper insert in the pic with the frame (the part with the poem on it) -- or am I misunderstanding something??
:-\ :-\
-
Hi , No the poem and picture are printed on to the under side of the glass
-
It might have been sold as a Mother's Day gift.
If it hadn't had a brass frame, I might have thought it was a modern repro, but obviously not.
Its surprising what mirrors go for at our local auction house :o

Hi Anne E.B. no it`s not a repro, but i think it may be from Canada or the U.S.of.A . Pure`ly by the design of the cottage ?

The frame is slightly different but there's another with the same image / poem turned up in Google's cache of a webpage LINK (http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:MY_zjPbuB7YJ:ie.picclick.com/Reverse-Painted-Motto-Mother-Black-330646187196.html+&cd=3&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=uk) - that one was on sale in Chicago, Illinois, 60616, US and is listed as a Black & Gold Eckardt - but I can't figure out who Eckardt might be. Does that name appear on yours too Rob?
