Title: Japanese??Rice-Bowl??Cockeral Decoration??

Hi My Hope you dont mind me putting this bowl on that i recently bought on a whim, Ive always said never never never buy any oriental kinds of thing as i always get cought out buying something that looks old but isnt any way rant over i still bought this because i keep chickens and it looks ok on the dresser! Its 7 inch diameter 3 inch height, the foot has a diameter of 2 3/4 inch and 1/2" deep!! there is a nice seems to be well decorated scene its able to see the very fine brush strokes that make up the greenery etc and there is a small japanese/chinese mark to the oposite side. Woukd love to know if it is indeed japanese anything else would be a bonus thankyou :beer:

The green mark looks like a stylised bat which is common to Japanese and Chinese,so not much help I'm afraid :thd: ;D ;D,not without any script to go on,sorry.

would i be right in thinking, A fairly deep foot like on this is a sign of good age??
It feels very fine the piece overall quite heavy.
I guess it can stay on the cupboard thanks keith for reply

Buying what you like is THE most important criterion.
However looks quite recent to me. 1980s or later. Possibly from Vietnam. They do some excellent work there.
I could be wrong - just my humble opinion.
