A friend at the antique shop showed me these two pieces. They are very heavy and a magnet doesn't stick to them. I don't know what to look for to find any information on them. They don't look hammered like some copper pieces I've seen and I thought they might even be bronze. The person that had them had very expensive antiques. Any info will be appreciated!! Thanks.

Hi there"
Can we see a picture of the back? Are they heavy -- or a could they be a type of resin? Can you scratch it (try on back). Might it be chalkware??
Maybe if we can see the back.....as I do not have a clue ???

The back is felt, the metal forms the frame. Each one is very heavy.

Could be bronze might be brass, very well cast, not hammered as you say, looking under the backing,as Rose says might help,is that Romeo and Juliet? ;D

My mum had one of these except hers was cream (to look like ivory or bone), I did search and find something about them but I can't recall if I put it on the board. Let me sleep on it!

These have been moved around since I took the pictures and have gotten scratched and they are cream under the color!! Same thing I bet that you looked for! So Sorry, three of us thought they were metal.

I remember seeing Osbourne wall plaques made from wax in Millers years ago but i think the quality on this one is much better. I think i posted a lion on here which i thought was metal but turned out to be resin or something, am still not sure though. :)
