Hi everyone, could do with your help in identifying this amazing polar bear. It has a glossy gun metal colour glaze and seems to be marked with the pattern number 10366. All I was told is that it was European. It measures just over 9 inches tall, so it's a fare size! Anyone recognize this beautiful bear???
Thanks for all your help as always!

Just a thought, anyone recognize this as Hungarian maybe Zsolnay???

Isn't he lovely! I thought he was a bronze at first, then realised you'd said glaze so he's pottery. I've no idea who he might be by... fingers crossed someone else can help though.

It's a lovely polar bear. A friend collects them and I've asked her but she doesn't recognise this one - although it does look Czech or Hungarian.
There's a list of Polar Bears by Danish potteries here: http://www.jamerantik.dk/polar_bear.htm but more for the purposes of elimination than identification, because I can't find it on there. I've also checked Porsgrund, Royal Dux, Sylvac and Zsolnay and it's not there either. Might still turn out to be a limited edition from the likes of Royal Dux, but unpopular because it's black rather than white.

Naomi, welcome to the board, and thank you for the polar bears link and your efforts to find this one. It's still a mystery to us, despite searches... one day we'll find him!

Thanks for the welcome.
He is a very handsome beast. I hope there are more like him out there somewhere. :)
