Title: Chinese/Japanese ? Vase - stumped

absolutely stumped on this, not a clue on origin to be able to try and ID the mark on the base.  Anyone please?

Looks like a Chinese ginger jar,the mark is a bit odd,not seen oriental marks with 'dots', dashes yes,might need Steven on this one, ;D ;D

The mark reads '永' (yong3), meaning everlasting / eternal.

Agree with Keith that it's Chinese and a ginger jar. Not 100% sure of date, but I'd hazard a guess that it's an early 19th century provincial piece.

my God you guys are good lol, would never have matched the yong mark to the base of the jar, but then again I am new to oriental stuff.  Thanks so much guys, I can do proper research now and will let you know what I find out
