Hi
I thought Keith would like this has he seems to have some knowledge on dolls. The only mark on it is the word foreign . It`s a tea cosy.Age i think 1950-60. ;)

Sorry not a clue but 'me other half' will have a look in her doll book, ;D ;D

That was quick, maybe what is known as a boudoir or half doll, made in France,Germany or Japan,1920's-30's,all types of materials used from plastic to wood, best I can do, ;D ;D

That's interesting, Rob. Moderator Lynne (josordoni) knows about half-dolls too - I recall her telling me about them years ago when the board was new. :)

I have one, wherein the lower half is a brush. Assuming it was to brush crumbs off tables. Scottish lady, of course.

Lynne is having trouble accessing the board at the moment, we suspect a browser issue, but she has asked me to post this on her behalf in reply. Hopefully she will be back with us soon. :)
"Lovely! probably German or possibly Japanese, dating from 1920s I would say from paint style, though some are earlier. Used for pin cushions, whisk brushes powder puffs and covers for all sorts of things.
I recently sold a lovely one with a little dog, with some damage to one hand, so she made much less than she would have done if perfect:

Possibly the best one I ever had was one with a monkey, I restored the mirror and hand, and a chip to her hat, I was really pleased with the result. "
