Title: Cubist style Vase Omega Symbol Red Clay
Post by: wiggy131 on April 02, 2014, 08:01:26 PM
Hello, Can anyone help me identify this pottery vase. It is in the cubist style made in terracotta, I think it's called redware?
It surface is a smooth matt glaze and as you can see it's marked with an omega symbol incised on the side.
I contacted an expert and they have told me it isn't the Omega workshop! Unfortunately!
It came from the USA, so if that might ring a bell with any potters. I have searched my Studio pottery marks book and nothing seems to fit.
Help!
Best Wishes
Vickie ;D

Hello Anne, I know it is very nice quality, maybe a fine art piece!
Keep looking! It came from Florida, USA, don't know if you have an American potter marks book? Not sure it is American, but another possibility!

Sorry, I don't have a book specifically on American pottery marks - mine are British and the Miller's one.

No problem Anne, I have contacted an Art potter in Florida, so hopefully he might recognize this maker. I'll let you know how I get on!
