Title: Japanese Sumida for show.
Post by: keith on March 10, 2015, 12:04:38 AM
As it's been so quiet here recently I thought I'd show off my second only piece of Sumida ware, they are usually out of my price range but for ?5 I couldn't resist, from around 1920s-40s probably by Ryosai 3rd, ;D ;D

Oh that's interesting Keith, is it a vase or a flask or what?  The textures and colours are fascinating!

Nice colours, I have heard of these being called 'moon flasks', I have seen a few Chinese blue and white ones in the last couple of years and a huge one once, but I cannot remember the origin of that one.
