Post by: 1nan on March 14, 2017, 06:00:04 AM
I can't find anything online about the set of three Arthur Woods pitchers.  Can anyone help?

Hi and welcome to the board. Your pitchers carry the mark for Arthur Wood that dates from 1934 - there is a timeline of the backstamps used by the company here: http://www.thepotteries.org/mark/w/woodarthur.html. They were a manufacturer of earthenware at the Bradwell Works in Longport, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire - potted history here: http://www.thepotteries.org/allpotters/1097.htm.  Usually hand-decorated pieces carry a painter's mark and a pattern number on the base as well.  Wood's are well known for their jugs and pitchers.
