Title: 14th-16 century thimble

I bought this thimble for £1, seems to be a 14th-16 century beehive thimble, not sure. It has a copper or bronze colour and measures 1 1⁄2 cm high. The condition is really good if it's that old. Main reason i liked it is because i kept seeing people dig these up while metal detecting on youtube. The condition of them was always bad with them having holes and dents in them.

Okay, you do realize that the dents are deliberate, right? Bit like a golf ball, except rather than for aerodynamics, it's so your needle won't slip.

Nope, and I wouldn't quote me, but the hole(s), if they are on the top or along the edges might have been so that the could be attached to a "chatelaine"...
