Hi, I have had a comment on my Egersund centrepiece but have been unable to answer it as I know very little about Egersund. The hand painted items don't usually turn up at auction very often.

Does anyone know where she can find more information about this sort of thing?

I'm not sure if that is the same company. I have also found others with a "Rex fayance Egersund Norge" backstamp.
This one appears to have the same kind of backstamp.

I think there was only one ceramic company in Egersund, it's not a very big place http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egersund (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egersund)
The factory closed down in 1979 (burnt down?) and there is lots of information here
http://museumsnett.no/dalmus/ (http://museumsnett.no/dalmus/), click on Egersunds Fayancemuseum in the left hand menu, in Norwegian unfortunately but there are some piccies.
I found a part set of this fifties/sixties stuff last week
