Title: Republic something ...jug

I found this mystery jug today too...it seems to have some age.
It is marked to the base but the only word I can make out is I think Republic ...???

Does it ring any bells for anyone? Thanks in advance  :srf:

I've tried the talc trick without much success Kev... the glaze seems to have covered some of the mark... this is the best I could get
