Title: BROTHER ART - WILLOW PATTERN IN COLOUR
Post by: skay on December 14, 2007, 10:24:51 PM
 :art:

This is my brother's interpretation of a Willow Pattern Plate, made on wood and a huge 19" diameter.

Whilst looking up images etc., he learned the story behind the pattern.  It was a story of forbidden love, but of course i've forgotten the details.  I'm sure someone will remind me............

xx

Aww yes Lynne thanks, so sad.  Now I remember there's a reason for the fence, bridge, birds etc.

He told me the story when I queried why his fence didn't have a gate in it.

I must tell him I'm proud, I take his art for granted now as he's always done it.  :art:

I'll post some more later - now I've nailed the re-sizing.

Thanks Lynne

Wow Sue, that's fabulous! And how unusual to see the willow pattern in colour too, well done your bro, he's a clever chap. :)
