No pots here in the Porcelain yet so here's a Gunnar Nylund vase (sorry for the poor image) made by Rorstrand, Sweden circa 1950....

Hi Pip,
I dont have a problem with that, the high fired glazes on these will often leave a paler rim where the glaze has run away from (thined) on the fine rims reveaving the white porcelain boby colour, it's an intentional detail, but it still has a high glaze over the rim, unless the piece has been resprayed with a varnish it looks OK to me, and a very beautiful example as well.
Please put a pic of yours up too when you've time, you know what it's like at a fair we only took a few seconds coming to a decision so it would be good to have another look.

I have a Rorstrand Bertil Lundgren and a plate (photo) that I really have no clue about ...and havent been able to find anything similar - mind you Rorstand isnt so easy to come by in New Zealand ...

Rorstand is suddenly becoming quite collectable on our NZ auction sites... but its hard to come by...
bring some over...hehe

The bird plate looks like an early 50s Marianne Westman design, but I cant remember seeing it before...I'll have a look though some reference.

What are the markings like on the back of your plates?
Just plain Rorstrand Sweden - 3 crowns - I'll try get a photo tomorrow but in this side of the world it's sleeptime ... thanks for all your help though :)
