Thanks Della.

Hey Rose, i did'nt know it was recorded on the Decca label as the Beatles auditioned for Decca and failed!! how odd :-\
-
I love that album best of the Beatles' stuff. I've got one tucked away as well.
-
Me too ;D
-
That record was released on the EMI Parlephone label, and have a CD issued on Apple lable, so don't understand the Decca label at all.Emmi
-
Actually it is possible that Decca did the distribution in Canada in same way as Capitol did it in America, so perhaps that's the explanation. Emmi
-
Can we have a close up of the label please?
-
Don't think so Kev. Emmi
-
The back cover seems to have a capitol logo on it - could the disc be a test pressing, EMI might have had to share pressing out due to nos of discs required? Do you have a catalogue number. This is intriguiging as Decca never released it! Parlophone/Capitol and Apple/emi/toshiba for reissues. Is it mono or stereo? Any dates anywhere?
-
I'll give you a fiver for it....just found this
The Beatles - The Beatles (Decca, 1968 Contract export pressing) $9,800
This is a sold at price!!

There's only one mention of a Sgt Peppers contract pressing in my record book.
Parlophone/Nimbus PCS 7027 (from Practical HI-FI magazine, mail-order only, Nimbus pressing).
