Title: Wonky brass kettle
Post by: a40ty on January 28, 2008, 07:32:26 PM
What do you make of this, agewise and originwise? Also inherited from aunt.
Not very large,a bout 23 cms from spout to rear and about 20 cms from top to toe. No marks of any kind and the handle seems to be amber coloured plastic. Wonder if the original was china of some sort or even gl**s?
Any help greatly appreciated  :)

My Mum had one of these with a wooden part where your amber-coloured bit it. Hers was bought new in the 1970s but again, possibly based on an earlier design.  Brassware can be devilish hard to pin down date-wise as so much of it is still made to traditional patterns.
