I bought this some years ago in East Anglia, and was told it was made by a local potter, but I forgot to make a note of the name. Does anyone recognise the style? The marks on the base read '2U'. It's double sided and is 6 inches high by 5 wide.

On the face of it this looks like a Bernard Rooke...it would normally have a BR or ROOKE impressed or incised. He did pot in Ipswich.
Ebay and Google will turn up plenty of resaults.
Martyn.
Heres another example...
edit... jpeg should be titled squirrel vase, not mouse (dont know what I was thinking?)

Martyn, you're a star - again! :D I reckon it's definitely Bernard Rooke. After reading your reply I went and had another look and what do I find? Very faintly inscribed on the side are the initials BR

A quick search on Google and I even found another version of my vase! http://www.studiopottery.com/cgi-bin/pp.cgi?item=4345 ;D
