Title: English Clocks
Post by: Anne on November 08, 2007, 12:10:47 AM
All clocks sold in Britain from 1698 have, by law, to be marked with the maker's name and place of origin. This applies to imported clocks as well, so the name is sometimes that of the importer not the maker.  If you look at almost any clock face around now it will say where it's made, even if from China.  I made some a few years ago and they carry my mark on the dials.
