It's a Chinese style tea caddy, though they seem to be made in England too.

Most Chinese Export porcelain was unmarked. Try looking at www.gotheborg.com for similar.

Thanks for the Gotheborg site. I hadn't seen it before. We were lucky enough to see the reconstructed Gotheborg when she visited Hong Kong at the end of last year. It was lovely seeing her sailing away against the backdrop of the evening Hong Kong skyline.
